Consultancy opportunity: Integrating Social Ocean Accounts in Belize

The Global Ocean Accounts Partnership (GOAP), in partnership with the Belize Ministry of Blue Economy & Marine Conservation (MBEMC), is seeking an experienced consultancy/organisation to lead work integrating social dimensions into Belize’s Ocean Accounting framework.

This is an opportunity to contribute to pioneering global methodology for Social Ocean Accounts while supporting Belize’s sustainable blue economy leadership.

Role

• Co-design Social Accounts with national stakeholders
• Community consultations across Belize districts
• Decision-maker interviews and validation workshops
• Integration with social KPIs for Belize MRV system
• Capacity building for long-term sustainability

Experience

• Experience in social research & community engagement
• Knowledge of Belize’s social/cultural context preferred
• Background in social/livelihoods projects
• Strong stakeholder consultation skills
